HweMonga hails from the serene countryside of Uzumba in the Murewa District of Zimbabwe, where his family's ancestral lands lay in Chimbwanda Village. His early education at Rusununguko Primary School in Mufakose and St Johns Chikwaka Mission set the stage for his future in music. From a young age, HweMonga was deeply influenced by the musical talents in his family, particularly his uncle, Godfrey Musandirire, who played the mbira, and his father, Isiah Nyatsine Musandirire, who strummed the acoustic guitar. These early influences ignited a passion for music that would shape his life and career.

A true virtuoso, HweMonga is a multi-instrumentalist with an impressive mastery of the piano, acoustic guitar, mbira, marimba, and various percussion instruments.
